International Competition to design the new SAMSON logo

On the 19th March we launched a global competition to design the new SAMSON Logo. This competition is open to any student or early career researcher from any country in Sub-Saharan Africa. 

Eligibility criteria

Applicants must be students or early career researchers (defined as being a current Masters/MD/PhD student or within 5 years of obtaining a Masters/MD/PhD), and be based in a Sub-Saharan African country.

Competition brief

The Sub-Saharan African MuSculOskeletal Network – SAMSON - is a research network across West, East and Southern Africa which aims to build sustainable capacity in Musculoskeletal Health Research. Musculoskeletal Health Research includes studies of bones, joints and muscles and the diseases that affect these systems. SAMSON focuses on Musculoskeletal Health Research in human populations throughout the lifecourse.

SAMSON is a newly established network and requires a logo, colour scheme and branding for its new website and associated materials. Your brief is to design a new logo for this purpose.

For use in printed material the higher the resolution the better.  We suggest a minimum height of 400 pixels, but it must still work as a logo when shrunk down to a height of 100 pixels for use on the website.

The winner

The winner will be chosen by the SAMSON panel. The winner will receive US$1000 to be spent on educational activity. 

The winner will be asked to write a 500 word short report on how they used the prize money to further their educational activity; this report will be published on the SAMSON website.
